Staying Positive (Part 1)

Self-confidence relies heavily on the power of positive thinking. Your ultimate goal is believing in your abilities enough to attempt to change your life for the better. Thankfully, even the most pessimistic person in the world can believe they are capable of completing small enough tasks. that’s what makes baby steps work!

Many things contribute to a negative point of view. Personal tragedies happen to everyone, but some people obviously handle more than others. Beat down by the realities of life, it’s very hard to remember the good points too.

Sometimes it becomes almost impossible to expect good things to happen. Their disappointment is debilitating. Others are So anxious or paranoid that they are frozen by the fear of catastrophe.

I don’t believe in therapy for all, but getting help if you need it could mean the difference between a lifetime of heartache and a world of possibilities. Sometimes our disorders are caused by an imbalance in the chemicals in our bodies that can be evened out through the right medication. Bottom line is, if you feel so fearful of failure that you are unable to do things that others are able to do, you may want to see your doctor.

Out there too are plenty of normal people who see the bad before the good in every situation. Ironically, they can be some of the most self-confident people around IF they learn the patience to search for the good in situations as well.

Ironic too are the loads of extrovert, “People Persons” who seem upbeat and happy all day long, but once removed from company they become dismal and lethargic. Never ending optimism can be a show you put on for others - just as outward confidence can mask a serious lack of personal courage.

Prepare for the Worst

Every time you make a decision, you face the risk of failure. If you have a problem maintaining a healthy attitude, always have a plan B ready. Staying active helps keep you from becoming stagnant when your original plans fall through.
